Hi Patrick, this was hard to process because in order to show the tail very well, I ended up blowing out the head so it's a little bigger than it otherwise would be. Also I used a deconvolve formula and a item that removes bloom; I cloned out some bad pixels, and adjusted the color, contrast and darkness. I had to use the clear image two or three times to give the tail enough umph. So it's probably not very good but I'm too tired to fiddle with it anymore. Gotta go to bed -- we're having breakfast with a friend at 9. Ugh for getting up then! Best wishes, Joe ________________________________ From: Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> To: utah astronomy listserve utah astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Saturday, June 1, 2013 2:52 AM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] PANSTARRS picture project I put together a packet of reduced FIT images I took of the comet this morning. http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/temp/2011L4.zip Contains: 1-60s exposure with a clear filter (luminance) 1-30s exposure with a green filter 1-30s exposure with a blue filter 1-30s exposure with a red filter Anyone care to try to assemble them into a color image? patrick _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Send messages to the list to Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com The Utah-Astronomy mailing list is not affiliated with any astronomy club.
