The day before Cosmos aired, I posted on my FB page, a rare event in and of itself, a reminder that Cosmos begins and everyone young and old should watch it. The day after Cosmos aired I spoke to some 40- something relatives about whether they had seen it. He has a Ph.D. T hey are very good members of the LDS faith ( mentioned , but the outcome would have been the same if they were Catholic, Protestant or Southern Baptist - it is what it is). They said, with great pride, when Cosmos started, they turned it off, because they don't believed in the b ig b ang t heory. While they also do not believe in the 6,000 year old earth theory, they adamently denied the b ig b ang theory. Now that's a bummer! An immediate apology to many on the board because my rejoinder was not "who do you think pushed the button." - or pulled the trigger :) As public outreach as Cosm may be, it's not reaching a deaf audience. This post is not intended to start a discussion, or whatever, it's just "it is what it is."
