Aha, so that explains why I thought I saw some wild looking man running around all crazed and such last night during the penumbral phase. Yes, the end of the world; there are some strong beliefs about that. Astro events really bring those out. Who knows when, how, why or if the world will "end", but our planet has been devastated by orbital mechanics in the past, and many species have had an end as a result. I can't recall ever hearing that term back 20, 30, 40 years ago. I've already heard from people who have heard that we will have 3 more in the next two years, and are claiming it's another sign of the end of the world. Nobody bothers to do any research and they don't want to hear about lunar cycles and orbital mechanics. On Tue, Apr 15, 2014 at 1:04 PM, Hutchings, Mat <mat.hutchings@siemens.com>wrote:
Better put on some steel-toe boots Chuck, because you'll hear that term again and again, I'm sure. :)

If I hear the term "Blood Moon" in the media one more time, I'm going to kick someone. _______________________________________________
