That's really impressive, Tyler!! Yes it is of great value because of the earliness of the discovery. How close were you to being the discoverer? Any thoughts? My off-axis guider finally arrived from Austria on Thursday night and I was able got the new astrograph up and running perfectly. Miraculously, the skies were clear that night, so I decided to image M65 and M66 in Leo, to test the new system out. By a lucky chance, I picked a target with a supernova that was discovered the same day: SN2013am in M65. The supernova is in the galaxy on the left in the image. The new image with the supernova can be seen here: http://www.allred-astro.com//viewer.php?id=113 <http://www.allred-astro.com/viewer.php?id=113&cat=1&sub=96> &cat=1&sub=96 If you are interested, photos of the new astrograph can be seen here: http://www.allred-astro.com//nocturne.php?cat=3 <http://www.allred-astro.com/nocturne.php?cat=3> I hope you will take time to look over the image and let me know your thoughts/suggestions. I am pretty happy with the performance of the scope, but I still have some work to do with cooling fans etc. Thanks, Tyler _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Send messages to the list to Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com The Utah-Astronomy mailing list is not affiliated with any astronomy club.
