Hi All, I had the greatest astrophotography night of my life so far, last night. It was the second of two nights I spent at the Wedge. Friday night was a total, exhausting bust. During that, I didn't realize I was slewing Baby at an angle where it got the focuser jack jammed under one of the arms. Then it wouldn't move. Trying to work the jack out without getting the scope out of alignment, I managed to break off the jack. Then somehow I lost it. These events turned out to be lucky, because I did fine without the miserable focuser, and without those extra pounds sticking out of the end of the OTA, on Saturday night I was able to balance the scope easily. The telescope performed beautifully, and even tracked and guided properly. So I got some nice photos that I'll be posting. Both nights were stunning, especially after the moon set. -- Best wishes, Joe
