I checked the schedule and it was due to appear at 5:26 am in the west. I went outside and there were high thin clouds and the moon was south-south-west and near full so I decided not to set up my camera but just to watch it. IIS appeared right on schedule. To the unaided eye it could have been mistaken for a jet liner. I was able to follow it with my 15X70 Galileo’s. It looked really cool. From my location IIS passed just arc-minutes above the moon. It would have been a nice shot. It seems to be the story of my life; I see a lot of neat shots get away as I stand unprepared with my jaw hanging down.
