Today a friend of mine from my WW1 aviation circle dropped-by; he's been on active duty, away from home, for the past 7 months and miraculously got 3 days leave for a fast home visit. I gave him a paperback on Zeppelin history and a few archival photos of an old aeroplane found in a barn in Argentina- and you should have seen his face light up! "Something to read this week!" he practically bubbled- I could see how much this simple act meant to him; he was overjoyed. I have mailed him model kits in the past, but had no idea how much these little packages meant to him. Please, please, if you have a family member or friend on active duty, send them something to read or otherwise occupy their off-duty time; something appropriate to their individual interests. If they have an interest in astronomy, perhaps a book or two, a small telescope, binoculars, anything. This simple act can have a tremendous effect on their morale (and you get a warm fuzzy to boot!). Thanks, back to astronomy. C. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
