Respectfully Erik, I realize this topic can and will spin out of control very quickly (which is why it always gets yanked). But, I don't ever recall consensus being part of the scientific method. It is supposed to be based on hypotheses, theories, tests, and results with error bounding, etc. My opinion (also obviously not part of the scientific method) is that this sounds more like a religion than science. Is there warming, is there cooling - of course there is - there *always* has been. But, the models used strike me as toy models with toy results. Just like we used in first year physics - with perfect spheres and frictionless surfaces. I.e. ignore cloud cover, ignore the fact that reality is way outside the error bars of all their models, etc. Clear skies, Dale. -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Erik Hansen Sent: Friday, September 27, 2013 1:18 PM To: Utah Astronomy Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] OT: IPCC report out today, it doesn't look good The report did include something about 96% of the scientist agreed it is caused by man.
Have you ever considered using logic rather than name calling???? Just asking.
Clear skies, Dale.

Off topic????  It's science and it impacts observing time and locations and, well, human existence.
I wonder how many members of this board will actually read the report you linked. No doubt you've irritated more than a few. They are the ones with their behinds in the air and their heads in the sand. Now this is what I call poor stewardship. _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy
