[Utah-astronomy] Any Idea if light can be seen angain?

Hi, I read this list all the time but I never really write to it, I should more often. Anyhow I'm attending Snow College right now, I took some friends with me last night and we sat and waited until 2:00 the northern light never showed the only thing we saw where the lights from Nephi. I think maybe I need to get further away from the city? Am I far enough north from my location? If not where would be best to go?
