I can't stand it anymore. I agree with Debbie. It's not a race (we won, remember?), the moon & Mars aren't going anywhere. I just can't afford any more taxes, regardless of the idealism behind it. The Founding Fathers had the idea that if you did well by the system, you paid well in terms of taxes. I pay taxes until it actually HURTS. I would like to see the likes of Bill Gates & Warren Buffett pay taxes until it HURTS them similarly. Now, since these men don't own camels capable of slipping-through the eye of a needle, you'd think they'd jump at the chance to give to their country until they were actually at the point of personal sacrifice. But hey, since when does anyone with financial security give it up willingly? Even in the face of a scriptural command straight from their deity! (Funny how these same people can stand up in church every Sunday with a straight face, even hold high office in those churches. And we actually LISTEN to their counsel! What an insecure species we are.) So I offer my support for the president's initiatives only if it does not require any more giving on MY part. Besides, the sea is the NEXT frontier. Realistically, though perhaps not as exciting to space enthusiasts, thats where our money should be going. Space comes after that. C. Joe,
I'm all for the space program. But who is going to pay for it? I say let the illegal aliens that are in this country as "temporary workers" pay for it. Or put a tax on Iraq's oil production.
