Thanks, Kurt, much excellent information. I had a feeling that a low/mid priced mount might have such tracking errors; small diameter gears typically mean a higher order of precision is required in machining in order to obtain small periodic errors. But the mount is certainly still a candidate for much of the work I ever envision doing, however I'm going to keep looking. No rush.
