Reads like I need a piece of 1/4" for sure, but apparently not much. If you can find other takers for the 1/4", I'd like to get a piece of it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chuck Hards" <chuck.hards@gmail.com> To: "Brent Watson" <brentjwatson@yahoo.com>, "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, January 19, 2015 6:16:06 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Teflon The only reason anybody ever uses 1/8" Teflon is because it's cheaper than 1/4". I prefer 1/4" because you can make the countersink deeper for the attaching screw and not worry about ever wearing down to it. Also 1/4" doesn't pucker up as much, if at all, when you tighten-down the attaching screws. Solid. I'll have to pass, Brent, but thanks for making it available. I bought a 4'x4' sheet of 1/4" about 25 years ago, and checking find that I still have about a 1'x4' piece of it. Enough to last me the rest of my life, and then some. Plus a bunch of already cut pieces! On Mon, Jan 19, 2015 at 3:15 PM, Brent Watson via Utah-Astronomy < utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> wrote:
I just looked and sheet teflon is going for about $35 per square foot for the 1/8" thick stuff. Just a point of information. I am still looking for an offer. You may be surprised at what I will take. The stuff has been in my basement a LONG time.
