Hi Bruce, When Artyom Novichonok and Vitaly Nevsky discovered the comet last year I'm guessing they were not happy that it got named for the survey that discovered it and not them but now I'm guessing they're happy that the latest "comet of the century" does not bear their names. Luboš Kohoutek should be so lucky. BTW, here's a nice amateur compilation of SOHO Lasco C2 and C3 images showing ISON's arrival and departure: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wYkfXKeffU patrick (aka Grey Beard) On 01 Dec 2013, at 09:27, Bruce Hugo <bruce.hugo@yahoo.com> wrote:
I'm currently talking a vacation in Iowa at my dad's cabin. Relaxing, doing some photography and catching up on some reading. I pick up my S&T and Astronomy magazines with ISON on the covers and am reminded of the classic photo showing the newpaper headline "Dewey Defeates Truman!" Heheheheheeheeee!
