Good point, Chuck. My wife Cory's ancestors were NY militiamen in the Revolution. Our son Sky doesn't seem impressed with it; he simply takes that for granted. But I have been trying hard to trace back ancestors of my own hoping to prove descent from one of the Revolutionary heroes. I did come across one ancestor of the right age, who had a distinctive name. When I searched for him in records of the section of New Jersey he came from I discovered he was on a list of Tories whose land was confiscated because he took up arms for the king!!! Still, I have so many ancestors that far back that I haven't given up, and in fact I found someone in the Continental service who had the same name as one of my ancestors. But it's not an unusual name and I haven't been able to make the connection. Yet. -- Joe _______________________________________________ Utah-Astronomy mailing list Utah-Astronomy@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy Visit the Photo Gallery: http://www.utahastronomy.com
