Don, I'd love to see that, too. But as a species we've only been at this science thing a fairly short time, still rather beginners at it- it's premature to hope for a lab emulating what could be a billion-year process just yet, don't you think? Let's give the scientists at least a few thousands years (instead of several scores of years) before we try and out-think the whole process at our desks or in the pulpit, OK?
