Eric, I remember flying to a meeting in CA with 2 dozen Spudnuts for the
inside sales people. They had not heard of them, so I took them as a treat. I can remember the young people carrying wire baskets with straps over their shoulders (not unlike the venders at a baseball game) and going door to door selling paper bags of the critters. I started working at the Beeline in 1964. I did not have a license at that time so I had to skateboard to work and my folks would pick me up in the evening. As I remember I had my first Tasco long before working at "Big Johns". I paid for my first telescope by selling Spudnuts! That would have been around 1960. If I remember correctly I made .05 per half dozen. Wow! I must have sold a bunch of Spudnuts. I can still remember that I could see the craters on the moon with the big eyepiece and NEVER EVER focused on anything with the "high power" eyepiece.
