Thanks for that info, Mark. I know Siegfried was really enjoying his retirement, and his trips down to see you and get some eyepiece time in. As tough as it was for you, I'm glad that he was among friends and family when he passed. He has a better view than all of us, now. Siegfried and his wife and brother were in southern Utah for a star party in Kanarraville and. Cedar Breaks. The star party in Kanarraville was canceled. Siegfried came up to Cedar Breaks to do some solar and and star party with me.
The weather was not good so we canceled the solar viewing and he went down to Cedar City to relax and prepare for the star party at 9pm.
He passed away while taking a nap in cedar city. They think it was a heart attack.
He was a great friend and mentor to me.
RIP...... he will be greatly missed.
