At least from my perspective, very high on the list of priorities is finding and sealing the leaks in the Refractor House dome. My thought is to have someone on the outside with a water hose spraying the exterior and others inside on ladders watching for the leaks. Once found, we remove the old sealant and fill the gap with new stuff. Once that's accomplished it'll be a quick and simple matter to get the refractor reinstalled and operational. Additional things include getting the Lunar Quadrant charts (which Mark so generously framed) hung along with Kelly Rick's donated plaque. patrick On 23 Feb 2012, at 16:19, Chuck Hards wrote:
If I don't have to work, count me in for a cleanup crew this year. Be sure to let me know when the work is scheduled, if I can't make the SPOC meeting. I have a trimmer and mower, as well as a small chipper available. And lots of garbage bags as well as a paint roller. (Denny's. Ugh. When is the board going to start meeting at Hooters? OK, don't send hate mail. I'd settle for VI over Denny's. But Hooters would be nice...) ;-)

There's so much work to be done on the Refractor House I can't say for sure when it will open. One of the things to be discussed at the SPOC meeting this Saturday (open to all) is SPOC work parties. Hopefully we can get enough people involved in those to at least get the major issues corrected quickly.
