Ron, to check the field width, put a different bino up to each eye, and superimpose the fields. You don't even need to have them focused for this test. Can also be done in broad daylight. If one has a wider field, it will be immediately apparent. Whoever the Bears belong to should recollimate them. It's easy. Joe Borgione recollimated his, perhaps he could post his experience. Bruce Grim did also. I swear these are the same binocular with a different name painted on them! Only difference is the front coating and rubber skin details. Keen to know your retest results. I hate when this happens. I guess I will have to get the Bears I did the test with so I can redeem myself. They belong to Dave Dunn our OAS pres. I had a friend with me that night and he agreed with my assessment. The collimation was off also and that might have contributed to the overall impression. Am anxious to see what the stars have to say tonight.
