Efficient energy use goes hand-in-hand with wise lighting choices. Fixtures that broadcast large spheres of glare are by design energy wasteful. Replacing a sodium an LED light source with an LED does improve efficiency, but deploying LEDs using the same inherently wasteful broadcast light fixture designs defeats the energy savings purpose of the change. - Kurt
