Seth, the October eclipse this year is visible from Utah. The moon will be setting after totality ends, in a penumbral state. It is not visible in Africa at all, which is in daylight during the eclipse.

The next total lunar eclipse visible from Utah will be April 4, 2015 - pre-dawn.
