No fun, to be sure, but it could have been worse, as you know. A few years ago a good friend of mine from Carlsbad CA lost everything to one of the southern CA fires whipped-up by Santa Anna winds. He and his family had so little warning that they literally got away with just the clothes on their backs - and the car they were driving. The fire was so hot that everything was consumed. No personal belongings whatsoever were spared. When I saw his "home" and the neighborhood a few days later only the chimneys were still standing. While it may not feel like it to many, Herriman residents have really dodged a bullet this time (no pun intended there). I hope the fire will finally be contained soon and that everyone can return home safely. Good luck, Jay. Kim
