Hi Kurt, Boy, talk about a stupid beginner error: My watch has always been good to within a couple of seconds. When it gets any further off than that I reset it to WWV. So I seldom bother to check its accuracy before a satellite pass. And didn't check it last night. I should have. After reading your question about my watch today I checked it against WWV and found it to be nearly 20 seconds off. More than enough to account for last night's miss. Grumble... patrick On 31 May 2010, at 02:36, Canopus56 wrote:
Patrick,
It was right on time as scheduled and for plot and magnitude. Once I picked it up with binos as X37B passed Mars, I had no trouble following it naked-eye and with binos from Leo-Mars through Com to CrB from SLC at ZLM 4.0. It was a fast mover. Index error on your watch?
