Special note to ALL board members. SLAS is co-sponsoring a Frontiers of Science Lecture Series with the University of Utah. Its second effort. This year the speaker will be John D. Spencer, Ph.D. of the Southwest Research Institute and one of the team leaders on the science analysis of the information sent back by New Horizons. The lecture is set for September 17th, probably in the Aline Skaggs Auditorium on the University of Utah Campus. It will be two months after the flyby and initial analysis should be well under way. Dr. Spencer will likely have some opinions to share about Pluto. Admission is free. So mark your calendars and don't miss this unique opportunity. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chuck Hards" <chuck.hards@gmail.com> To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com>, "Joe Bauman" <josephmbauman@yahoo.com> Sent: Thursday, July 2, 2015 11:22:45 PM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] New Horizons They look like shadows of tall peaks.
