My view also. We had just over 35 minutes of viewing until the Sun set into low clouds. I also expected Venus to be smaller, probably for the same reason. We also compared the view through my #14 welders glass with eclipse glasses. The welders glass gave a far sharper image. Venus was almost not discernible through the glasses but it was very obvious through the glass.
