Seth, the October eclipse this year is visible from Utah. The moon will be setting after totality ends, in a penumbral state. It is not visible in Africa at all, which is in daylight during the eclipse. On Mon, Apr 14, 2014 at 7:36 AM, Seth Jarvis <SJarvis@slco.org> wrote:

It'd be a _real_ shame to have to travel to Europe of Africa to see it!
The next total lunar eclipse visible from Utah will be April 4, 2015 - pre-dawn.
Fingers crossed for clear skies tonight!
