Same problem here in Firefox under "Windoze". However, it is just the extension. *.MOV and *.MP4 are basically the same thing, so encoding to *.MOV (in MP4 format). Quicktime opens both just fine under IE 6. PS. VLC (Video-LAN) has a pretty nifty encoder program built into it, if you want to try using that. Cheers, JH. Michael Carnes wrote:
Hi Patrick, No problem with the first link (the .MOV) link. Downloads and plays fine in Safari. I checked the video attributes and saw you used the H.264 encoder, which I believe is the best choice. Might give you a little trouble with those toy Windoze machines, but I guess you'll hear about that.
But the second link didn't work. I don't know if it's the .MP4 designation or what, but Safari attempted to download it as data and showed page after page of gobbledygook.

I'm back to trying to teach myself how to post videos to the web. Been working on it all night. I'm finding it easy to post full size video but they are so huge that anything running more than a couple of seconds is just too big.
I _think_ I've got the reduction process partially mastered but I'd like y'all to let me know if the following work on your computer.
And if you can download and run the videos (or not) I'd like to know what browser you're using.
Note that the files are still pretty big. The first is 6.4 megs while the 2nd is just under one meg (the original file, right out of the camera was 348 megs).
Both are the same clip, just processed differently. Run time is 1' 25".

If you're interested in the content, it was shot Sunday afternoon out at the Tooele airport. Yours truly is the guy in blue with white stripes and 4th into the formation. And the large facility seen in the background is the Larry Miller race track.
Thanks!
