Patrick, The other thing I was going to try with the C lens housing was to simply duct tape it to a Celestron LPI camera - which comes with better software gain controls. - Kurt
Duct tape? Bruce Grim would be proud (but you'd still need to add some red primer somewhere). :) Much better luck this evening with a 16mm lens mounted on the PC164C. Only a 12 x 16 degree FOV but stars of mag +6 were easily visible as well as parts of M42/43. I'd like to try a 4.5mm lens I have but it will not screw into the 164 far enough to achieve focus so I've posted to another group with PC164C users asking for advice. Super Circuits is taking the wide angle camera back. So maybe next I'll get one of their wide angle lenses that is made for the 164. patrick p.s. I'd like to get your lens back to you today or this weekend if that works for you. If that works for you let me know off list when you're available.
