Actually, from my days as an environmental reporter, I recall that much of the haze in the Grand Canyon is of the regional variety, having drifted in from Mexico City. Then too, the canyon is just naturally hazy sometimes, as seen in photographs taken in the 1870s. -- Joe ________________________________ From: "erikhansen@thebluezone.net" <erikhansen@thebluezone.net> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Sunday, December 4, 2011 9:53 AM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Alton Mine & Clear Views at NP's
The Alton mine seems destined to meet California's insatiable appetite for electricity.
We spent a total of 10 weeks at te Grand Canyon over a 10 year period.
there were many days you couldn't get a clear picture of the canyon because of air pollution that had migrated from LA. Only after a good rain was the air really clear.
