I tried but it turns out (not surprisingly) that the Earth was changing the orbit so fast that even though the ephemerides I got from the IAU were fresh they were still outdated so I still missed the object. Too bad. Had I been able to find it it would have probably looked something like images 5, 6 & 7 at http://planet.state.ut.us/slas/patrickw/PATRICKW01.HTML .
