Maybe the prevailing wind, which piled the dune toward the left, also polished the rocks on that side a bit more. Who knew Mars could look so ordinary? Love seeing these photos from the Mars rovers. This photo is interesting! Wonder what created the great disparity in the rocks. The ones on the left looking large blocky, windblown and exposed while on the right I see squarish flat stones with sharp edges littering the hill with some exposed older (?) rocks. Got to love the geologic dynamics!
