I have posted to my album on the SLAS Gallery three photos of Comet Lulin taken the morning of Sat., Feb. 21 from my back yard in Draper, UT. http://www.slas.us/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=464 These are 30-second exposures using a Nikon D40X on a tripod (no tracking, so objects are "moving"). I used a 55mm lens with f4.0, and iso setting at 800. The first photo is unedited. The other two are cropped to frame Gamma Virgo (I think) and the comet. The first of these two cropped photos (No. 9a) was taken about 30 minutes prior to the second cropped photo (No. 17a). The rapid movement of the comet relative to the nearby star is evident when comparing these two photos. I would welcome any enhancements that people might achieve by using Tyler Allred's editing techniques, as explained in his excellent lecture last week.
