That was by design. Personally I liked this year's schedule where we had one SPOC star party with a Moon and one with no Moon. But the schedule that won out addressed the notions that: 1) SLAS has been doing too many public star parties in general and at SPOC in particular. I didn't/don't agree with that but it's not the first time I've been out voted. 2) Public star parties are for the public and the one thing most members of the public most like seeing through a telescope is the Moon. This one I agree with.
The intent is ... to further discussion of the issue.
