Thanks Brent. I'd seen much of that footage before, but not assembled into that particular film. It's funny because some of the brief aerial close-ups of the 2-seater crews in action were actually of German crews & planes. When the first American squadron was put together using ex-Lafayette pilots, Luffbery had planes, but no guns. After a month of waiting, he finally starting taking his pilots over the lines on-patrol in unarmed Nieuport 28's, just so they wouldn't lose their flying edge.
