Thank for the report, Mark. We were just south of Dimple Dell at Storm Mountain Park (114S and 10E) with about 40 others. We had the same cloud problem. The sun was close to the northern edge of the cloud bank and I wondered if it was much different at Dimple Dell. ________________________________ From: Mark Shelton <astroshelton@yahoo.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, May 21, 2012 4:00 PM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] North report Hi, We had a very large crowd of people at Dimple Dell Rec. Center. As far as SLAS members we had 4 members help Clark Planetarium with the solar eclipse. Thanks to all that helped. There were 9 telescopes set up and I figure about 1,000.00 people looking and waiting in line to have a look. We passed out over 500 SLAS schedules for star parties for the summer. Answered so many questions I can not count. We had a great time sharing the sun with everyone. Clouds rolled in just at the peak of the eclipse and did not leave. But I know most people in attendance had a great time. clear skies to all Mark Mark Shelton Indian Hill Middle School Tech Ed.
