Rich, I know some Ham Radio guys that like the Ultimeter brands: http://www.peetbros.com/ They are modular so adding on features can be done in such a way that is kinder to the pocketbook. I'll talk to a couple of other Astro/Hams that I know have wx stations and see what they prefer.
