Hi Debbie: Heres a good example of doing an end-run around the marketing "experts". The Celestrons are Chinese made by the same manufacturer as the Barskas, Oberwerks, Galileo & Bear brand. The only differences are minor; coatings, hinge fittings, rubber armor to suit the particular branding. Some include a trinket such as a plastic L bracket or mini-tripod, some don't. The cases might have slight differences. I've owned all of these brands of 15x70 and they are mechanically & optically identical. That's why so many folks are grabbing the brands without so much astro-cache'. They're getting the same binocular for only about sixty to seventy bucks. Go with the least expensive brand of this model you can find, you won't be disappointed in performance. C. --- UTAHDEB@aol.com wrote:
Chuck,
Do you know where the Celestron 15 X 70 binos are made? Also, what is the difference between the Celestron 15 X 70 and the Oberwerk 15 X 70 binos? There is about a $50 price difference between the two.
Debbie
