August 21, 2017 will be my 63rd birthday. Being in August, I hope that the weature will cooperate. In 1979 I went on a chartered eclipse flight to see the total eclipse in the Pacific Northwest. There was considerable cloud cover, but from the air we could watch the Moon's shadow approaching and view the eclipse. ----- Original Message ----- From: utah-astronomy-request@mailman.xmission.com To: utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Tue, 22 May 2012 17:53:12 -0400 (EDT) Subject: Utah-Astronomy Digest, Vol 111, Issue 135 Send Utah-Astronomy mailing list submissions to utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to utah-astronomy-request@mailman.xmission.com You can reach the person managing the list at utah-astronomy-owner@mailman.xmission.com When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of Utah-Astronomy digest..." Here's the one for the 2017 Eclipse if you haven't seen: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEgoogle/SEgoogle2001/SE2017Aug21Tgoogle.html The Southern Tetons are sure looking good. Perhaps Jenny Lake or even a backpacking trip into the Indian Lake area? I'd also consider south of Lincoln City, Oregon but would be worried about cloud cover being right on the coast. The Tetons sound like the most scenic place to be, but the Tetons are also subject to monsoon weather. That may be a given in August no matter where you go. Thanks for the link, Dave. I love Jenny Lake. Anybody fished that lake? Good fishing and a total eclipse. What could be better? Debbie On Tue, May 22, 2012 at 2:59 PM, David Bennett <dlbennett@mac.com> wrote:
