Not new. I've been doing supernova searches off and on for a couple of years. Typically I spend my nights taking data for one place or another but occasionally I'm between others' projects and I use supernova and minor planet searches as a gap filler. Admittedly my chances of finding a SN are not good as I can only cover a few hundred galaxies a night but as was posted here earlier today it can happen. patrick On 10 Dec 2013, at 06:42, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote:
Supernovae? I thought you primarily did dirt patrol. New interest?

p.s. I can certify at least 320 galaxies to be supernova free tonight...
