Take I-80 East (past Park City exit) to Exit 147. (Rt. 40 East). Stay to the right. The exit splits and there is no stop sign for East-bound Rt. 40. Head East to Exit 4. At the bottom of the exit ramp, go left towards Kamas. Take this road for 1.6 miles to the Peoa - Oakley turn-off. This turn-off will be on your left. You know you are approaching it because there are several "Deer-Crossing Ahead" signs. Since the Deer Crossing is at the turn off, the distances on the signs are also the distances to the turn-off. This is Browns Canyon, but the sign says Peoa - Oakley. Take this road for 4.2 miles, to the Harper Gravel Pit road and sign on the left. (About 1000 feet before you get to the gravel pit road, there will be an orange sign on the right that says truck entrance ahead.) At the gravel pit sign, turn in. There is a gate across the road with a chain. The gate should be open. (But sometimes it will be closed and the chain will be wrapped around the ends of the gate. It is not locked. If so, unwrap the chain, open the gate and come on through. Carefully close the gate behind you and re-wrap the chain.) Go about one and a half miles up this road. There is a mobile home type weighing office off to the left. Just before the weigh office, the road widens and separates into a parking area and the road way. We usually set up in the parking area behind the weigh office. At 01:58 PM 11/18/2002 -0700, you wrote:

I don't expect to get there until 1 or 2 AM, but I can't speak for others. I like this choice becasue then the Salt Lake glare and moon are all in the west (sort of) by then. Looks like the weather will cooperate nicely!
