With the clouded out eclipse winding down I find myself with a totally non-astronomical mystery.
I mixed up a batch of cherry Kool-Aid and put it in an ice cube tray and popped it in the freezer. I've been doing that forever and I always get the usual unremarkable flat topped red ice cubes.

At first I thought something had dripped down from above but I checked and found there was nothing above that could have dripped.
Could the solution have somehow "erupted" upwards?
