Even if the weather cooperates up here, it's not a sure thing that I'll image this due to having to get up at 3:30 AM that morning. If I don't get a nap after work, there's simply no way I'll be able to keep my eyes open. But if the stars all align, I was planning on shooting my JVC hi-def camcorder with the 100mm ED refractor, and the DSLR with the C-6, both in tandem on the CGEM mount. I'll be shooting video with both, getting as many frames as possible to construct images and animations with. Weather may be good but seeing is another thing entirely. A steady atmosphere will mean a higher percentage of usable frames. Jupiter rotates quickly so you can't stack frames taken at intervals longer than a few minutes. Anyway that's the plan. Mother Nature may turn me into Rip Van Winkle instead. On Wed, Jan 21, 2015 at 3:56 AM, Dave Gary <davegary@me.com> wrote:
So far, down here in St. George, it looks as if the weather is going to cooperate for the upcoming Jupiter event. The forecast for the Salt Lake area doesn’t look too bad either. I’m still trying to decide what camera setup would be the best. Hopefully, you guys that know what you’re doing will get some great shots you can share with the rest of us.
