FWIW, the number of unsubscribers is now up to 5. Sorry to see them go. patrick On 06 Dec 2011, at 23:40, Jay Eads wrote:
Just curious. I know a couple of people who have left the list because of the discussion and then some because of the sheer volume of email that one can get to the list. It may be helpful to let people know that they can go to the link Patrick provided, then log in at the bottom and then on the first option enter their info and then they can edit their options. The first choice in the edit options is to enable or disable mail. If the mail gets to be too much, or one dislikes a conversation one can simply unsubscribe from receiving the email and then go to http://mailman.xmission.com/lurker/list/utah-astronomy.en.html and from there view the threads they find of interest. If you have Outlook or another mail service on your computer I believe you can even respond to them there, the response just won't be linked. If you don't respond but enjoy reading some threads this may be a viable option for some. Hope I made sense.

Howdy folks,
One person unsubscribed from U-A and two others attempted. All in one day.
Granted, what's going on here is pretty tame compared to the all out flame wars I've seen on other lists. But I don't think we've ever had three leave on the same day so let's try to calm things a bit.
Now, for those wishing to unsubscribe. First go to:
http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utah-astronomy
Near the bottom of the page you'll see "To unsubscribe from Utah-Astronomy...".
Enter your email address in the space provided and click on the "Unsubscribe or edit options" button.
Clear skies,
