Hi Chuck Hi Chuck We are packing for Bryce, so I’ll work on editing the photos, and then put them up on my photography portfolio site with a link just to the cloud photos. Should be hopefully finished before we leave tomorrow am. Thanks for your offer!! Question re: solar viewing If the coronal hole (southern central location) isn’t visible on my small solar scope is that b/c it is facing earth? I couldn’t make it out yesterday. Thanks Best, Shoshana BTW Space Weather has a gallery of N. cloud photos from all over the world. &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& Unfortunately the list doesn't support attachments and pics. But you were looking at the same display, Shoshana. It would have been in the same location for Joe. Ron, probably more overhead to due west from your location.

I have been watching in the late evenings for the last week. Are they a morning phenomena also? Yes, Chuck, I saw them! I happened to be up all night. Noticed them walking past the pantry window. I thought, "Could it be? Could it really be THEM?" I figured I would act like they were THEM and grabbed my cell and rushed out and took as many photos as I could. They were in RAW format so I'll edit and color balance and submit. What an experience! I had been watching and reading about them on Space Weather. What great opportunity....first time in my life seeing them 'live'. Best, Shoshana

Did anyone else notice the electric blue noctilucent clouds over SLC very early this morning? They are uncommon, here's a recent story from the S&T website about them: https://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/noctilucent-clouds-3/ I'm going to see if they come back tomorrow morning, this is only about the third time I've seen them in my life, and the first time over the Salt Lake Valley. If I had been more awake, I would have tried for pics.

Liver & Onions time again!

I'm thinking about June 22nd. There is a SPOC star party that night, but nothing else that I can see on the calendar. What say you all to the 22nd? This should give everyone plenty of advance notice. I had promised a quick one after the "Big Boy" train siphoned-off many of us for last time. Please RSVP or suggest a different date if the 22nd won't work. Thanks!
