Fellow SLASers, The Hubble Space Telescope Wide Field Camera 3 WFC3 and the Space Telescope Imagining Telescope STIS observed the LCROSS impact site. No explosive plume was seen by the WFC3. The STIS did not see OH which would be throw in the air if water was present. The water would be broken apart by uv light if present creating the hydroxide radical. The date is the 23 of October and we are scheduled for an 8:00 pm start. I am also looking for a guest speaker if anyone is interested. We are expected between 100 and 150 people to attend. This conference is designed for 6th-12th grade boys and introduces them to exciting educational opportunities and career choices. This conference is similar to the annual Expanding Your Horizons conference for girls, which will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010. We are currently looking for someone interested in providing two, fifty minute interactive and hands-on presentations on a career as a Rocket & Space Scientist. A presentation that involves a hands-on activity and includes information about your field (education, skills, salary, job outlook, etc.) is an effective way to get the boys excited about an education and career in your field. The workshops are scheduled for 10:10 a.m. & 11:10 a.m. This will involve a time commitment from 9:30 a.m. to approximately 12:00 p.m. To show our gratitude for your willingness to share your expertise with these intelligent and motivated boys, you will receive lunch and commemorative EYT t-shirt. This will be the 4th annual EYT and we expect between 250 to 300 boys, parents and educators to attend.
