Wolf Creek Pass Site Locations

I did a little trip today with my 8yo son up to Wolf Creek hoping to get some hiking in but the weather was too scary (lightning) to venture too far away from the vehicle. Having never observed at this location, I took the time to drive about looking at the area and trying to find an observation friendly camp location with some degree of privacy to pitch a tent. I took some gps readings of some "west of the entrance" potential sites, none with a lot of the privacy character. These ranged from W 40° 29'9.5" to 40° 28'14.5". I brought them up on google maps and was surprised to see an area east of the entrance from W 40°28'47" to W 40°28'41" that we missed that might be okay. Where does everyone usually set up? Are there any fish in the lakes nearby? :) If the weather cooperates I'm thinking of camping up there for a few nights. Cheers David

The $125 included tip, $28 bottle of wine, dessert, and appetizer. As I recall, the main dish, Elk and Caribou Diane was $59 for 2 people. I could of skipped the wine but my sister insisted we order it. It was one of those dinners you don't forget. I think the buffalo prime rib that we ordered Saturday was $28 but we got a couple of meals out of it. I try to eat meat in moderation. Lakeside

Rush Valley

Suspicious subscriptions

Maybe I'm being paranoid but there have been 4 subscriptions to Utah- Astronomy in the past hour (we usually don't get that many in a week) all but one of which have unusual names and email addresses. Add that to the time of day they subscribed and, let's just say I'm suspicious. So, just to be on the safe side I've placed each of the newbies under moderation which means anything they post will have to be approved by a moderator before it is broadcast to the list. As always, if anything inappropriate shows up on Utah Astronomy I'd very much appreciate a phone call to 435.882.1209 (anytime of day or night). Email is also ok but I may not get that for several hours and if inappropriate stuff starts showing up here I'd like to know about it right away so the poster can be banned immediately. Comet 2006VZ13 (Linear) - M3 conjunction tonight

At 5:30 local time today (7/22), c2006VZ13 will be at its closet conjunction with globular cluster M3 - separated by 20 arcminutes.
