Rich, Right now I'm in the market for a 76-80mm scope so I can take widefield photos. I really like the image size of my TeleVue 102. A TV-76 f/6.3 or a WO 80mm f/6.25 would fit nicely on my dual-scope platform. Also, for around $3100, I could buy that Takahashi 160 Epsilon. The focal length is about 500mm with a fast f/3.3 ratio. I've seen stunning astrophotos with this scope. Like I said before, my interests have changed in four years. Here is a photo of the Double Cluster I shot last night. I still have to work on my polar alignment. $5265 for the OTA plus more for the rings and finderscope. I know Jim paid $500 for the reducer. I haven't priced the Celestron CGE mounts but I can understand why he went with this mount instead of the Losmandy G11. I waited 4 years for a Traveler and they stopped making them. I'm not going to get on waiting lists any more. Life is too short. Now I'm thinking a Takahashi Epsilon 160 would be a nice scope for the money with little or no waiting. I don't want the same things I wanted four years ago. That is the trouble with waiting lists. Not 100% sure, but I believe they do. Now that Synta owns Celestron, I'd expect to see a lot more variants of scopes/mounts to hit a larger range of price points. -----Original Message----- Does anyone know if Celestron makes the Orion-brand SCTs?

I looked at Mars through a new Takahashi TOA 130 last Wednesday night. The TOA 130 looks like a refractor on steroids. There is a big difference in price and bulk compared to my TV-102. My scope weighs 10lbs but the TOA 130 weighs in at 22lbs. As for refractors, I'll stick with the lighter 4 inch telescopes. Astrophysics 155 EDF refractor with a telecompressor.
