Having a couple problems with latest version of CreateNOID (I've never used an older one), and since it's been mentioned on this list before, thought I'd ask in case someone else had a solution or could at least let me know if they've had the same problems. #1. Doesn't work at all under Win95. Tested it on various configs with OSR2 and will not install because it won't detect the modem, regardless of what modem is in use on the system - tried different brands, from external USR to generic to PCI Winmodems - all the same result. #2. When it is installed, it does not ever save the password in the Outlook Express mail account. The resulting mail account has the "Save Password" checked, but the password is blank. This one is really killing me - I already had written my own software that would do absolutely everything that CreateNOID does, EXCEPT I couldn't save the Outlook Express password without writing out an .INS file and ShellExecute'ing it. This is the reason I bought CreateNOID and it won't do it. Anyone else have same experience or a solution? - Joel
I have used the software for about 3 years and its worked fine for me under 95/98/Me/2000/XP. Modem issues I've had in the past were generally early PnP winmodems or PCMCIA/Laptop modems. I just mailed out 2000+ disks (New dial up numbers) with the new version and had very little in the way of support calls.
