A couple things that might help: Check with your telco on the switch type. I set up a chassis once connected to a 5ESS switch where the telco had configured the PRI's as NI2. With PRI's set for NI2 on a 5ESS switch, with the DSP set for 5ESS, it worked, except it kept intermittently dropping DS0's and occassionally the D-channels. Reconfiguring the DSP for NI2 solved that problem. However, with NI2 PRI's, the hunt group never would work correctly. If a DSP card (or even a single B-channel) was busied out, the whole hunt group went down. We ended up having the telco reconfigure the PRI's as "5ESS-Custom" and everything started working like you expect it to. Next - DSP 3.5.12 is the devil. Get 3.5.105 or 3.5.109. Also, ARC 5.3.3 was buggy for me. Intermittent wierd problems - I've had good luck with both 5.3.107 and now 5.3.110. - Joel -----Original Message----- From: Trevor [mailto:thopper@myvine.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 05, 2003 10:31 AM To: usr-tc@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [USR-TC] ds0 out of service problem Sorry in advance if this accidentally gets posted twice ;) Every few nights lately I seem to be getting 5-10 DS0's that just randomly go out of service on my chassis. The trap alerts come from different cards and seemingly from different DS0's. TRAP ds0sOutOfService Trap(ds0sOutOfService) nmcTrapSequenceNumber.0=38 nmcStatEventId.0=38 nmcGmtime.0=1046821588 uchasSlotIndex.1=15 uchasEntityIndex.1=1 uds1StatDs0SrvcChngLst.1=0 at 23:30:38 I did notice however that there is one card where the modem had 28 failures (or there about) and the DS0 was local out of service on it. I am not sure if the chassis is automagically taking it out of service because of the failures on this or what, but whenever it happens, it throws the whole hunt group into busy because it's not letting calls past that point. Any thoughts or ideas on this? HiperArc is running 5.3.3 HiperDSP is running 3.5.12 (ISDN Pri-ESF/B8ZS, 5ESS switch type) HiperNMC is running 8.6.3 Thanks! -Trevor GramTel U.S.A.
