Kirti, We once saw similar issues due to an MTU setting. Might be something to check out. When some users connect to the internet using dial-in, they have no problem connecting to our network. But when they try to connect out of our network, such as yahoo, they get a message "this page can't be displayed". It happens intermittently. Any suggestion? Address Pools

My chassis has two dual 10/100 HiPer Arc nic cards, nmc, 14 HiPer span cards. Is there are way to assign the ethernet ports to specific subnets, with an address pool specific to that port's subnet, and assign certain spans to that ethernet port? In other words.. visually: Slot 15, Ethernet Port #1, subnet A, IP Pool A, Span Cards 1-3 Slot 15, Ethernet Port #2, subnet B, IP Pool B, Span Cards 4-6 Slot 16, Ethernet Port #1, subnet C, IP Pool C, Span Cards 7-9 Slot 16, Ethernet Port #2, subnet D, IP Pool D, Span Cards 10-14 Thanks for the info, -Tom

Recent MTU (I Think) Problem with TC1000 Servers

Hello, Last week we had a strange problem, where dialup connections that were working fine for years on our TC1000 servers suddenly had problems getting to certain web pages (EBay, banking sites, MSN) and logging on to the MSN instant messenger network. This only seemed to affect Windows XP/2000 and OS X users, but the fix I implemented to solve the problem for those users (force the MTU to 576 in both the RADIUS server and the terminal servers with SET PPP SYSTEM_MTU 576) is now causing problems for *some* (not all) Win98, old Mac (OS 8) and Playstation Online users. Does anyone know what could have caused this problem to suddenly crop up, or have suggestions as to a better fix, that won't break dialup for the rest of my users? -- Charles Tassell <ctassell(a)isn.net> Island Services Network

Hi guys, As I recall there used to be a cardset installed in the TC1000 which allowed you to run NT on it. Do you recall what that cardset was called and if it might have been possible to run Linux on it instead of NT? I believe it was a dual slot blade, but does anyone remember anything like this? If so do you remember if it had any control of the DSPs within the TC or if it was just a standalone pc? problem with MOH

MOH is not working with me: when another call is received while the modem is connected to TC1000, the network behind TC1000 becomes unreachable. if the calling party stops ringing in a short time (less the 1 min) the connection "may" be restored. But in the case when I answer the call or I reject it, the connection will be lost permanently and the modem will be disconnected in approximately 1 minute. NOTE: V.92 is fully enabled and Modem On Hold Timeout is more then enough from the DSP side. Any help/tip is much appreciated.
